Senior Partner, Co-founder and Co-leader, Mercer Workforce Sciences Institute
Haig Nalbantian will provide the framework for TalentBall based on his work about the evolution of a “new science” of human capital management – “Workforce Sciences” – that integrates the learnings/perspectives of economics and organizational psychology along with statistical methods to enable an asset management approach to securing and managing an organization’s workforce.
Haig will present case studies he has spearheaded including connecting the WAR sabermetric to leadership at the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Bank of Boston, Research into how team changes affect performance of hitters and how to measure the impact of the change, and a study on the aging workforce and its relationship to diminishing returns. In addition, Haig produced a study for Major League Baseball and the impact free agency has had on retention and compensation. This study produced a model that is still in practice today.
During this session, Haig will:
- Identify specific sabermetrics and introduce formulas that can directly tied to corporate talent analytics.
- Share case studies, current and past work that validates the application of sabermetrics to corporate talent analytics
Hig will layout the concept of the blueprint that will be created by participants during TalentBall and how it is going to be done.
